I spent several hours listening to amps from late afternoon and well into the evening with my Altec Seville speakers. While I had my trepidations about the ability of 1.5 watts of tube power to drive speakers without having to turn the amp up to 100% volume. I am happy to report that I was able to achieve room filling sound in an open floor plan living area with the volume knobs set between 10 and 11 o'clock. Yes, this one goes to 11 quite nicely! I went for a simple set up as adviced to see what the amps could do. An iPad via a 3.5mm to RCAs streaming Tidal. I went from Shelby Lynn's Just A Little Loving to Bill Evans to a Tidal listener's 50 track list of amazing female vocalists to Joni Mitchell to The Beach Boys' Pet Sounds. Wow . . . just wow. So much amazing, beautiful sound. Warm, yet clean and clear. Often, it felt like I was in a recording session or listening to them perform at an intimate club. I have what is (IMHO) a nice line up of tube gear, ranging from the Schiit Freya+ tube pre with vintage 6SN7s, a Cary 300b, Scott 222 and McIntosh tube gear ranging from 1963-mid 1990s. These Alan Eaton amps stand toe to toe with all of these pieces. It is a modern day classic. I am not sure how they can put together such a high-quality pair of amps for this price point, but I am thankful that they do. Keep up the amazing work!

Last night turned into another one of those marathon five-hour listening sessions, the kind that starts with curiosity and ends with quiet awe.
It was a special night — the musical debut of the Alan Eaton Amplifiers 45 amp here at the Greek Audio Geek Studio.
Of course, I didn’t stop there. I rolled through other amps and tubes as the night went on — comparing, listening, letting each have its moment to speak. And by the end, I’d solidified something I’ve been feeling for a long time:
....After spending time with a truly great 45 or 2A3 amp, most 300B’s just sound… veiled. Distant. As if they’re trying to remember what music is supposed to feel like.
GASP!
The Alan Eaton 45, on the other hand, was alive. Supremely musical, effortless in the way it conveyed those subtle emotional nuances — the tiny dynamic shifts, the shadings, the textures — that make music more than just sound. It was open, airy, and deeply engaging in a way that makes even very good 300B amps seem polite and lifeless by comparison.
Limits? As is true with all low power tube amps you need to be able to live within it's output power rating.
The result? Musical bliss.
And perhaps more importantly — a reminder of why I fell in love with this hobby in the first place.

I’ve had a few different tubes amps in my life. But I had heard rumors of the mystical type 45. A 1.5 watt single ended triode. 1.5 watts? How could that possibly be enough? Then I found myself in possession of the Altec Flamenco’s. A high sensitivity horn loaded speaker from the late 60’s. I tried various solid state amps and even a few push pull tube amps but the Flamenco’s wanted something different. After an online search I landed on the Alan Eaton 45 mono blocks. They had a solid reputation with several positive reviews. I decided to take a chance and order a set. I had the pleasure to speak to both Jason and Alan Eaton. Both were extremely helpful and knowledgeable. They worked with me to build the amps to my specifications. I had a moment of panic after placing the order. Could a 1.5 watt amp drive my 100 pound speakers? Once I took delivery, all my fears faded. These amps are beautiful. Minimalist, and purpose built with vintage parts, high quality output transformers and NOS tubes. They are able to drive my speakers with ease. No preamp needed. Musical and dynamic. Jazz has never sounded so good. These are keepers. I’m very pleased with my purchase. My only caveat, if you’re getting the 45 amps, they do require a highly sensitive speaker. Order with confidence. Hand built in the USA, point to point wiring and the sweet, sweet sound that only the 45 tube can deliver.

This is the best sounding amp I’ve paired with these Cornwalls or a pair of fortes I’ve heard. Klipsch are notorious for a wide but flat soundstage and not so hot imaging. This amp actually gives it a fairly deep soundstage and sharp imaging which I thought was impossible. It has better bass than the Decware Zen. Not quite as much sparkle but more natural sounding and better soundstage and more midrange bloom. Not as much midrange bloom as my Willsenton r300 but much tighter bass and waaay more transparency and realism. Not as much punch as my dads Galion but more emotional and lifelike. More transparency. The only amp that I think rivaled it was the McIntosh 225 which is a totally different animal with its embellished sweet swirling sound. Your amp sounds more like real musicians in the room while the Mc sounds like a Mc.

I remain so grateful to have been introduced to both you and your father and to be the incredibly proud owner of one of your creations. I have been an audio hobbyist for many decades and have so enjoyed the countless pieces of equipment I have owned during that time. However, I always had a sound in my head that I knew was possible, but was never able to duplicate, until now. Your little amps have offered me a sound that I have envisioned for far too long and now immensely enjoy. Music to me is not bout noise or sound, but instead about notes that changes the mood and energy of an entire room. When it is played through something that offers this type of reproduction it becomes art. Thank-you both again for sharing your art and for taking care of these issues along the journey.

Really enjoying the monoblocs! Sound is truly amazing. In many ways they equal my more costly and much more complicated Elekit 8900 for pure listening enjoyment. In a small/medium room, they do quite well with my "not so sensitive" single driver frugal horn XL's! The bass with this pairing is phenomenal. Imagine they would sound even better with a well-designed more efficient single driver speaker.

Listening through streaming the Geshelli Labs DAYZEE DAC at the moment but it will be interesting to see how it sounds when spinning vinyl. Quite honestly I have owned a lot of stereo equipment and I can't imagine a better sound than what I am listening to today. I have been listening to your wonderful Typee 45 monoblocks. They sing (no pun intended) in combination with my 101 db efficient Klipsch Cornwall IV speakers. The volume can be played at ridiculous levels, much louder than would bring me enjoyment. I wanted to thank you so much for making these and for selling them to me. Other than a more detailed phono cartridge, I see no need to purchase anything additional. I am extremely happy. I have attached a picture with them in my system.

I’ve been listening to your amplifier daily, for hours a day. Hard to believe 2 watts can sound so damn good. I’m running a Mac mini as a server to a cord qutest dac to Tekton Perfect SET 15 Speakers, designed and optimized for single-ended triode amplifiers.

Right off the bat I really like these amps. I like everything about them. the minimalist build, how you select the parts, and the overall look. The sound is very good. They seem to really flesh out the audio in a very good and realistic way. Also they have very good stereo separation.

I used the CD you provided (thank you) to adjust the toe-in of my speakers to get imaging and the soundstage just right, and just sat back and was wowed by the music detail, richness, room projection (a big 20’ W x 25’ D x 18’ H space to fill), pinpoint imaging, and 3D soundstage. I’m still totally engaged, which is a rarity. For some reason, I ended up selecting Beck’s 'Sea Change’ as a reference listen, and am still amazed how complex it is and how it comes alive with the 45s, and they even reveal a couple of dubbing errors I’ve never heard before. All to think the volume knob is only a 1/3 of the way up.
Frankly, if I’d known what a little 2W tube can do, in a properly designed amp, I would have bought a pair years ago. I’d have to say that my speakers seem to be the weak point in my system now. I’ll probably eventually go to some folded horn design (but hopefully without typical horn issues) and finally call it a day (I swore off subs years ago). Bass is certainly satisfactory right now, but after hearing Robert’s system, I know the little 45 can do much more, and I’m missing a bit of the lower frequency content.

The first thing I noticed when I open the box is how good the packaging was, amp look beautiful & solid. And the most important thing, the sound.. Your amp + Omega Alnico speaker combo sound breathtaking, the best sound I’ve ever heard in an Audio system. Tonality is so right, music just flow effortlessly. Imaging & soundstage is insanely good, details & clarity is astonishing. Bass is awesome. Your amp is very special, it is very dynamic and has an unbelievable drive. And so much preserve energy & power than what 2wpc suggest, much louder than my Decware Zen (2.3wpc). Before this, the Decware Zen amp was my reference amp, it does everything very well. But your amp does everything what Decware amp does, but with more authority & energy, and I would say music is now even more effortless, rich & natural with your amp.
Initially I was expecting may be too much good things gonna be a problem. Alnico speakers (specially Omega Alnico) are famous for its musical & warm sound. Then my NOS DAC (MHDT Orchid) is super musical, it is based on the legendary Phillips TDA1541A R2R DAC chip which is famous for it’s natural analog like sound quality. And combined with your 45 single ended triode amp it’s magical, scream musicality.
I’m extremely happy about my sound system right now. Without you I would not have achieved that. So once again thank you very much.
